Formerly Academy Ballet Theatre, the Greater Lansing Ballet Company was founded by the artistic director, Barbara Banasikowski Smith.

The Academy

The Academy of the Greater Lansing Ballet Company provides students with exceptional teaching and a nurturing environment. Classes are offered in Ballet for Beginning thru Advanced level dance students of all ages. The Academy also offers Pointe, Variations, Jazz, Tap and Pilates.

The Academy strives to encourage excellence and self-improvement, not only in dance, but also in every aspect of a student’s life. With plenty of perspiration and ample inspiration, every lesson at the Academy is an opportunity to grow in artistic expression and creativity.
